This band came to the fore during the French hip hop explosion in the early-1990s along with such monuments as NTM and IAM. Assassin soon earned a reputation for politically engaged lyrics and a hard-edged sound. Their recently released album 'Touche d'Espoir' is true to past form, dealing with such topics as modern slavery and female inequality. After supporting Asian Dub Foundation at Bercy in November, the Parisians headline at what promises to be a slightly more intimate affair.
