For years and years the venue at 608 Somerville Avenue in Somerville was a dive bar and club known as Club 3 and was basically written off as a waste of space. But last year Club 3 finally closed its doors and in its place there now stands a club that couldn't be more different. For starters, while it's definitely a rock club, it's got an upscale, spacious. well-designed modern interior, a large, well-positioned stage, and a custom designed bar with real glassware. And to top it all off, the club's namesake and co-owner Lilli Dennison, is one of the more connected people in the Boston music scene, which virtually guarantees both that the cream of the local crop will turn up in the Lilli's schedule and that some great out of town acts will also be stopping by.

Boss Hog bring their awesome cocktail of funk, grunge, blues and noise to the Szene Wien. Promoting 'Whiteout', their first album in five years, the band still retain their essential characteristics - divine vocals from Cristina Martinez and hard-funking guitar chops by Jon Spencer. Featuring an array of uncompromising producers such as the two Jims - Thirwell aka Foetus and Sclavunos, formerly of Sonic Youth and now of Nick Cave's Bad Seeds - the new album has a tad more electronic glitter and programming in the sound. Spencer's legendary live performances should guarantee an above-average show and a large turnout from Vienna's rockist community.
